Local Collaboration Learning Opportunity

The Pilot Project 2023/24 seeks to build a local mātauranga informed collaboration for native habitat restoration across Whangārei Heads, and is being led out by Weed Action Native Habitat Restoration Trust with funding support from Foundation North.

Weed Action Native Habitat Restoration Trust and Aki Tai Here invite you to join us for an afternoon of information on the Pilot Project and deepening understanding of the history of Whangārei Heads from a Te Ao Māori perspective, Te Tiriti o Waitangi and local Mātauranga [knowledge].

Where: HOLYground Christian Youth Haven, 1 Wharf Road, Parua Bay

Time: 1:00pm to 3:30pm with light refreshments to follow

It's that time again where Predator Free Whangarei Heads and Aki Tai Here are sharing information about the control plan for Pataua Island.

🌱On offer for this week Wednesday 17th April from 10am - 12pm

  • Free Bait (only available onsite)

  • Colouring in competition

  • Free Trap Information

After a long wait Aki Tai Here will be presenting the intended control plan for 2024, starting with Monitoring kicking off in May 2024.

Aki Tai Here Kaimahi will be visiting homes in close proximity to monitoring stations over the next few weeks.

Te Papuni Dunes is in a critical state & if nothing is done our precious taonga will start to shrink away.

If you have free time on Monday 15th April from 10am come down lend our Taonga a hand and learn about what we can do to protect our dune areas.

What to bring;

>Garden Gloves

>warm clothing
