Winners for the Environmental Sustainability and Awareness 2025 category
Imagine our surprise, working alongside our heroes of taiao mahi. The team came out of the bush into the Tai Tokerau Māori Business world - our heroes were still there and we could receive the award sponsored by WAI 262 and kaumatua for many Te Warahi Hetaraka.
Our Pakiki is 3 years old and kaupapa 4 years old. Today we have 12 employees trained in biosecurity and additional skills to grow their careers in taiao, environmental management.
Now established, Aki Tai Here looks forward to growing to support whenua, whanau māori in their goals, and spend more time in taonga works, rather than the biosecurity focussed work killing pest plants and possums.
